The Sports Scholarship offers a tuition fee waiver of up to 100%, excluding examination fees and ID card fees, for selected SVU students based on eligibility and performance criteria.

Eligibility

• Merit-based scholarship will be granted at the entry level
• Applicable to those students who are taking admission in UG, PG & Diploma courses at SVU
• The age of the applicant must be between 17 to 26 years.
• The applicant must have represented at least the State or any University in one of the following competitions: Sub-Junior National Championship, Junior National Championship, Senior National Championship, All India Inter-University Tournaments, or National School Games. This representation should have taken place during the 2023-24 season or later.
• Applicants should be eligible and committed to prepare and represent Somaiya Vidyavihar university in sport.

Selection Process

The selection process will proceed as per the steps outlined below:

• Submission: The Scholarship application is part of the course application on somaiya.edu. Applicants must indicate their interest in the Sports Merit Scholarship and submit all mandatory documents.
• Screening: The committee conducts thorough document checks to verify the applicants' eligibility.
• Evaluation:Shortlisted candidates undergo personal interactions with the committee to assess the candidates' potential and alignment with the scholarship's objectives.

Documents Required

Self-Attested copies of three National Merit/Participation Sports Certificates provided by the organization who are members of the Indian Olympic Association or Competition organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (only the Highest Merit/ Participation Sports Certificate will be considered.)
